Serial data
transmission
with simple,
dedicated
commands
The MU-2-R uses
Circuit Design’s
unique simple,
dedicated commands.
Setting channels and
all other controls
can all be performed
with commands.
Example 1:
Sending the 5
characters “ABCDE”
@DT05ABCDE
Example 2:
Changing the channel
to 08
@CH08
Relay
function (maximum
10 stations)
You can make a relay
with a maximum of 10
stations using the
route command.
Example of
transmitting data (ABCDE)
to the target
station with
Equipment ID EI=04
via relay station 1
(EI=02) and relay
station 2 (EI=03).

Strong error
correction
function
The MU-2-R has a
strong error
correction function
using Reed-Solomon
code.
This enables highly
reliable
communication even
in environments
where random errors
and burst errors
typically occur.
However,
communication speed
is slower than when
no error correction
is used (with the
standard protocol).
* To use error
correction, set the
communication
protocol of both
MU-2-R units to the
error correction
protocol.
1: Standard
protocol: The
standard protocol
that does not
perform error
correction.
2: Error
correction protocol
2-1. No interleaving
→ Error correction
of 0 to 255-byte
variable-length
data. Data recovery
10%

2-2. Interleaving 1
→ Error correction
of 0 to 8-byte
variable-length
data. Data recovery
25%

2-3. Interleaving 2
→ Error correction
of 0 to 32-byte
variable-length
data. Data recovery
25%

Receive
confirmation
acknowledgement
With the command
option of ACK
request, you can
request the target
station to return a
data receive
acknowledgment ‘ACK’
.

Checking the
field strength
of target
stations
You can check the
field strength (S)
and floor noise
level (N) of target
stations from the
source station with
commands.

This is convenient
for checking the
field status and
noise level when
embedding the MU-2-R
in user equipment
and the
communication status
of the equipment
located in the
distance.
Easy UART
interfacing
Simple interfacing
is possible with the
UART port of a
single-chip CPU or
the COM port
(RS-232C) of a PC.
Low voltage,
low consumption
current
operation
The MU-2-R can be
used for long
periods of time
using batteries
outdoors where no
other power supply
is available.
Compact size
With a compact size
of 36 mm × 26 mm × 8
mm, the MU-2-R can
easily be embedded
in other equipment.
The MU-2-R is 55%
smaller by volume
than the MU-1-R.
