Regulatory
compliance
of
the
MU-2-R |
The
MU-2-R
is
made
for
embedding
in
other
equipment.
(Products
incorporating
the
MU-2-R
are
henceforward
referred
to
as
final
products.)
The
European
regulation
applicable
to
the
MU-2-R
is
the
R&TTE
Directive
1999/5/EC.
MU-2-R
meets
the
following
requirements
of
the
R&TTE
Directive.
| R&TTE Directive article |
Test category |
Harmonized standard |
| Articles 3.1 (a) |
Protection of health and safety |
EN 60950, EN 50371 |
| Articles 3.1 (b) |
EMC |
EN 301 489 |
| Articles 3.2 |
Effective use of the spectrum |
EN 300 220 |
The
conformity
assessment
for
the
MU-2-R
was
completed
in
accordance
with
the
R&TTE
Directive
Annex
III
procedure,
and
the
EC
Declaration
of
Conformity
is
attached
to
this
manual.
The
MU-2-R
has
received
the
CE
mark.
Note:
The
MU-2-R
is
intended
to
be
used
in
all
EU
and
EFTA
countries.
There
may
be
restrictions
on
the
use
of
voice
and
audio
applications
in
the
following
countries;

Cautions
regarding
regulatory
compliance
when
embedding
the
MU-2-R |
1.
Duty
cycle
The
MU-2-R
is
intended
to
be
used
in
the
433.05-434.790
MHz
band
in
the
ERC/REC
70-03
Annex
1,
Non-Specific
Short
Range
Devices
shown
in
the
table
1
below.
The
transmitting
time
and
downtime
of
the
MU-2-R
and
selection
of
the
frequency
channel
are
controlled
by
the
final
product
in
which
the
MU-2-R
is
embedded.
The
final
product
in
which
the
MU-2-R
is
used
must
be
designed
so
that
the
frequency
band
and
duty
cycle
conform
to
the
radio
regulations
of
the
countries
where
it
is
to
be
used.
| Frequency Band |
Power |
Channel Spacing |
Duty cycle (%)* |
| 433.050-434.790 Hz |
10 mW e.r.p. |
No channel spacing |
Below 10% |
| 433.050-434.790 Hz |
1 mW e.r.p.,
-13 dBm/10 kHz for wide band channels |
No channel spacing |
No duty cycle restriction |
| 434.040-434.790 Hz |
10 mW e.r.p. |
Up to 25 kHz |
No duty cycle restriction |
|
* Duty cycle is the longest time when transmission is “on” in a single carrier frequency within one hour, expressed as a percentage.
Remarks: This information is valid as of February 2009. |

2.
Antenna
The
radio
and
EMC
parameters
of
the
MU-2-R
radio
modem
have
undergone
conformity
evaluation
with
the
lead
antenna
model
ANT-LEA-01
provided
as a
standard
accessory.
Other
antennas
cannot
be
used.
If
another
antenna
is
used,
the
results
of
the
radio
conformity
assessment
obtained
by
the
MU-2-R
radio
modem
cannot
be
used
for
the
conformity
assessment
of
the
final
product.
3.
Supply
voltage
The
MU-2-R
radio
modem
should
be
used
within
the
specified
3V
to
5V
voltage
range.
4.
Enclosure
To
fulfill
the
requirements
of
EMC
and
safety
requirements,
the
MU-2-R
should
be
mounted
on
the
circuit
board
of
the
final
product
and
must
be
enclosed
in
the
case
of
the
final
product.
No
surface
of
the
MU-2-R
should
be
exposed.
5.
Documentation
In
the
documentation
for
the
conformity
assessment
of
the
final
product,
state
clearly
that
the
MU-2-R
radio
modem
is
embedded
in
the
system.
(The
MU-2-R
radio
modem
has
received
the
CE
mark.)
6.
Exemption
clause
Circuit
Design,
Inc.
does
not
guarantee
the
accuracy
of
the
information
above.
Directives,
technical
standards,
principles
of
operation
and
the
like
are
interpreted
differently
by
the
authorities
in
each
country.
The
directives
of
the
EU
and
of
each
country
also
differ.
In
case
of
